Overview
Achieve smooth, high-precision motion tracking with the GT2 6mm Open-Ended Timing Belt. Specifically optimized for linear positioning applications like 3D printing and laser engraving, the GT2 system utilizes a specialized curvilinear tooth profile. Unlike older trapezoidal belts (like the MXL or T2.5) that slip inside pulley grooves, this profile allows the belt teeth to mesh perfectly with matching pulleys, dramatically decreasing backlash, reducing print ghosting, and tightening overall layer alignment.
Key Features
Fiberglass Reinforcement Core: Embedded internal fiberglass tensile cords prevent the rubber compound from stretching, snapping, or deforming under high acceleration loads.
Anti-Backlash Tooth Geometry: Standard 2mm pitch design ensures smooth transition over pulleys for silent, jitter-free carriage tracking.
Flexible Custom Sizing: Sold as an open loop by the meter, allowing you to easily cut the exact length needed for your specific X, Y, or custom gantry layout.
Universal 3D Printer Fit: The default factory replacement specification for the vast majority of Cartesian and CoreXY desktop printers (Ender, Prusa, Anet, Voron).

Maintenance & Tuning Pro-Tip
Avoid Over-Tightening: While a loose belt causes loose lines and circles that print as ovals, over-tightening a belt like a guitar string adds excessive lateral load to your stepper motor bearings, leading to premature motor wear or bent idler pins.
Plucking Method: A properly tensioned belt should give a low, distinct bass pluck sound when flicked on a long span, with very little structural vertical deflection.
