Overview
The 74HC02 is a 14-pin Integrated Circuit containing four independent 2-input NOR gates. In digital logic, a NOR gate outputs a “HIGH” signal only when both of its inputs are “LOW.” This IC is essential for creating flip-flops, oscillators, and custom control logic without needing a microcontroller. The “HC” version is the modern standard, offering high noise immunity and the ability to drive up to 10 LSTTL loads.
Key Features
Four Independent Gates: 4 individual NOR gates in a single compact DIP package.
Wide Voltage Range: Operates anywhere from 2.0V to 6.0V, making it compatible with both 3.3V (Raspberry Pi/ESP32) and 5V (Arduino) systems.
Low Power Consumption: CMOS technology ensures almost zero standby current, ideal for battery-powered projects.
High-Speed Operation: Typical propagation delay of only 8ns to 15ns.
Standard DIP-14 Package: Breadboard-friendly and easy to solder for students and hobbyists.
