Description

Overview

The 1-Channel 5V Solid-State Relay Module is an advanced electronic switching board based on high-quality SSR technology (frequently utilizing the Omron G3MB core). While conventional magnetic relays are limited by mechanical lag and contact arcing, this solid-state module leverages light-based optoisolation to gate AC power.

Because it operates purely on semiconductor logic, it boasts a near-infinite operational lifespan, zero acoustic noise, and microseconds-fast response times. It is universally used by makers to interface low-power microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and PIC with high-voltage mains appliances safely.

Key Features

  • 100% Silent Operation: Completely noiseless switching makes it perfect for indoor automation, media rooms, and desktop projects.

  • Built-in Fuse Protection: Includes an integrated resistive fuse on the output terminal to safeguard your control circuitry against sudden overcurrent spikes.

  • Optical Isolation: Complete separation between the sensitive DC control logic side and the high-voltage AC mains side prevents back-EMF damage.

  • Low Current Trigger: Requires just a tiny 2.5mA signal from a microcontroller GPIO pin to switch heavy AC loads.

  • Zero-Cross Switching: Smoothly activates the load when the AC voltage waveform passes through zero volts, vastly minimizing radio frequency interference (RFI).

Interface Pinout Guide

  • DC Control Side (Input):

    • DC+: Connect to the +5V power rail of your microcontroller.

    • DC-: Connect to the common System Ground (GND).

    • CH1 / IN: Control Signal Input. Pulling this pin LOW ($0\text{V}$) latches the AC circuit shut.

  • AC Load Side (Output):

    • Two-way screw terminal acting as an inline inline-switch. Break your AC live wire and run it through these two ports.
