Overview
The 16-Pin DIP IC Socket (Dual In-line Package) is a standard connector used to mount 16-pin integrated circuits (like the 74HC595 shift register or the ULN2003 driver) onto a printed circuit board (PCB) or breadboard. By using a socket, you eliminate the risk of destroying sensitive silicon with your soldering iron’s heat.
