Overview 

The Normally Closed (NC) Reed Switch provides a reliable, non-contact way to detect the presence or absence of a magnetic field. Encased in a protective glass or plastic housing, the internal reeds are held in a closed position by default. When a magnet (included or separate) is brought within range, the magnetic force opens the contacts. This makes it the perfect sensor for “Closed-Loop” security systems—if someone opens a door or cuts the wire, the system immediately knows.
