Overview
The SD4938 is a high-efficiency, current-mode PWM controller with an internal high-voltage power MOSFET. It is designed to handle input voltages that would destroy standard regulators. With its 150V breakdown voltage, it provides a stable output even in noisy high-voltage environments. It is most commonly found in Electric Bike (E-Bike) 48V/60V/72V to 12V converters, LED drivers, and industrial “PoE” (Power over Ethernet) systems.
Key Features
Integrated 150V MOSFET: Eliminates the need for an external high-voltage transistor, saving PCB space.
Wide Input Range: Capable of handling massive voltage spikes common in battery-operated vehicles.
Current Mode Control: Provides excellent line and load transient response with cycle-by-cycle current limiting.
Built-in Protections: Includes Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Over-Temperature Protection (OTP), and Short-Circuit Protection.
High Efficiency: Synchronous rectification support allows for minimal heat generation during conversion.
