Overview
The 74HC153 (CMOS) and 74LS153 (TTL) are dual 4-line to 1-line data selectors/multiplexers. By applying a 2-bit binary code to the common select pins (A and B), one of the four inputs (I0I_0I0 to I3I_3I3) is selected and passed to the output (YYY). Each multiplexer includes an independent active-low strobe/enable pin, allowing flexible control of each section of the IC.
Key Features
- Dual Multiplexers: Two independent 4-to-1 multiplexers in one chip.
- Common Select Lines: Both sections share select pins (A, B), reducing GPIO usage.
- Independent Enable Pins: Active-low strobe inputs (G1‾\overline{G_1}G1, G2‾\overline{G_2}G2) allow control and cascading.
- Non-Inverting Outputs: Output directly follows the selected input.
- Breadboard Friendly: DIP-16 package suitable for prototyping and PCB design.
