Overview

The STM8S003F3P6 is a “Value Line” 8-bit microcontroller that offers a perfect balance of performance and affordability. This minimum development board breaks out all pins of the TSSOP-20 package to standard 2.54mm headers, making it breadboard-friendly. It is widely used for simple control tasks, sensor interfacing, and as a “co-processor” in larger systems. Unlike Arduino, it uses the SWIM (Single Wire Interface Module) protocol for high-speed programming and real-time debugging.

Key Features

  • Powerful 8-Bit Core: 16MHz Harvard architecture with a 3-stage pipeline—faster and more efficient than traditional 8051 cores.

  • Compact Footprint: Smaller than an Arduino Nano, making it ideal for tight enclosures.

  • On-Board Voltage Regulator: Includes an AMS1117-3.3V regulator; can be powered via the USB port or external pins 4.5V  to 15V.

  • Flexible I/O: All pins are clearly labeled, including UART, SPI, I2C, and 5-channel 10-bit ADC.

  • Developer Essentials: Integrated Reset button, Power LED, and a User LED (connected to pin PB5).
