Overview

The RF Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Kit is a simple and inexpensive way to add one-way data communication between two microcontrollers. This pair consists of a square-shaped transmitter and a rectangular receiver. Using ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) modulation, these modules are famous for their simplicity and ability to work with the VirtualWire or RadioHead libraries, allowing you to send strings of text or sensor data wirelessly.

The “Antenna” Secret

These modules often come without an antenna. To get the best range (up to 100 meters+), you should solder a simple copper wire to the ANT pin:

  • For 433MHz: Use a 17.3cm straight wire.

  • For 315MHz: Use a 23.8cm straight wire.
