Overview
The TEC1-12712 Thermoelectric Cooler is engineered for high-intensity thermal applications. By utilizing 127 internal semiconductor couples, this 40mm x 40mm plate can move a massive amount of heat quickly. While smaller modules are for soda cans, the 12712 is capable of chilling larger volumes of water or air, making it ideal for high-end PC water cooling loops, medical-grade cold storage prototypes, and advanced thermodynamics research.
Key Features
Maximum Heat Flux: 12-Amp capacity provides up to 150W of cooling power—the highest in the standard 40mm series.
Instant Freezing: Capable of creating a massive temperature differential ($T_{max}$ up to 67°C) almost instantly upon powering.
Compact & Rugged: Standard 40x40mm size allows for easy integration into existing heatsink setups.
Silent Solid-State Operation: No moving parts, no vibration, and no hazardous refrigerants.
Versatile Thermal Control: Can be used for both heating and cooling by simply reversing the DC polarity.
